Roboexotica 2008 

10 years anniversary

The tenth ROBOEXOTICA will stretch over a longer period of time than usual in December 2008.

Very much like usual though there will be the known ingredients - exhibition, conference, workshops, social program with music performances and film screenings and last but not least the Annual Cocktail Robot Awards with ceremonial gala - and will this year be complemented by artist round tables and special 10^th anniversary events.

In the first week of December a four day main event will start off a truly roboexotic month, the rest of December the exhibition at Freiraum/q21 will include documentation of the event's ten year history.

The Festival will be held at various locations across Vienna (Museumsquartier, Volkstheater, a.o.) - the detailed schedule will be published in due course.

During the ongoing year 2008 there will also be activities in which ROBOEXOTICA's operators will act as an art label - dispatcing hand-picked artists with our "seal of approval" to international events.

In May 2008 ROBOEXOTICA's US-franchise will be presented in San Francisco: ROBOEXOTIC-US, which, in cooperation with David Calkins, is meant to facilitate the already existing exchange of ideas between the West Coast's very much alive technology/art scene and the roboexotica mothership in Vienna.

Additionally there will be some minor events held in Vienna before December which will foster the cocktail-robotic cause.
